The air sampler SG10-2A incl. charger, personal air sampling system for the determination of hazardous substances in the air at work places (total dust and fine dust), flow rate 3.5-10 l/min.

It has been developed for the sampling of gaseous and particulate matter, particularly for the sampling with 10 l/min, the nominal flow range is from 3.5 to 10 l/min, lower flow rates down to approx. 2 l/min are possible with higher tolerance. For a very short sampling time of maximum 2 hours, it is technically possible to perform the sampling with the sampling device in the extended temperature range of -5°C to 50°C. This can lead to an overload of the device, so that in case of a damage of the device no warranty is taken over.

The sampler SG10-2A was developed for mobile and stationary sampling of gases and dusts when high volume flows are needed and high flow resistance must be overcome, in particular for dust measurement according to EN 481. With the corresponding filter heads the measurement of the inhalable dust (total dust) and the respirable dust fraction (fine dust) possible. The nominal volume flow range is 3.5 to 10 l/min. Smaller volume flows up to approx. 2 l/min are possible with lower constancy.
It is equipped with a powerful rotary vane pump, which generates a nearly pulsation-free vacuum and can overcome high flow resistances. The sampler is easy to operate and covers a wide adjustable flow range from approx. 3.5 to 10 l/min without any gap. The requirements on a constant volume flow with changing flow resistance with fault indication and automatic shut-off are fulfilled through the automatic volume flow regulation over the complete range.

Construction and Operation:
The air sampler SG10-2A offers an adjustable flow range from 3.5 to 10 l/min and is as well as the SG 10 equipped with three rotary vane pumps, which are controlled and regulated according to the actual power demand by an integrated microprocessor. It may be used as a respirable dust sampler or a fine dust sampler. The automatic flow control and regulation keeps the flow rate inside the nominal range constant within ±5% of the initial set point during the sampling time. The sampler switches off automatically reaching the preset sampling time or, after a certain time of fault indication on the display, when the adjusted flow rate can not kept constant inside the required toler-ance range because of too high flow resistance from the filter load or too low battery voltage. The SG10-2A is easy to operate by means of the keypad and two-line LCD display. The keys can be locked against unintentional operation. The sampler is provided with an internal battery management to ensure a controlled charging of the integrated Lithium-Ion battery and for the display of the current charging state of the battery in %. The charging time for a discharged battery is about 8h. The sampling time is programmable; the actual run time and the motor load as well as possible fault messages are shown on the LCD display.
